About Us

As one of Maine’s oldest seafood brands, Harmon’s Seafood’sTM roots began nearly 100 years ago. Ora Belle Higgins, harvested fresh quahog and surf clams off of Higgins Beach in Scarborough, Maine to make clam cakes which she served at the historic Higgins Beach Inn.

Ora shucked and chopped the meaty, freshly harvested clams, adding egg, bread crumbs and a personal selection of spices, creating an ocean delicacy – the perfect clam cake. Ora’s clam cakes quickly became famous locally as well as with the Inn’s summer visitors from Boston, Philadelphia, New York and beyond.

Upon retirement, Ora Belle handed down her recipe to her daughter Constance and husband Laurence Harmon. Ora’s fried clam cakes became a favorite at the Inn’s Cornora Restaurant, which they owned and operated.

Today, just as it was nearly 100 years ago, Harmon’sTM Seafood, LLC is still owned and operated by a hardworking 12th-generation Maine family. We are proud to continue Harmon’s tradition by offering only the freshest, locally sourced seafood products.
